The beginning

I want to start from the beginning: the reason why I called my book and my blog The dance of Shiva. Strange but true, nobody ever asked me about that. Shiva is anIndian God who is shown dancing inside a circle of fire. The burning circle represents the cosmic energy Shiva creates and channels. His power is said to destroy and create new life. His dance instead represents the energy and life cycle of the universe. Additionally, it is said that Shiva's dancing (as Natraj) is the energy that keeps the universe running, and that if he ever stops dancing the universe will cease to exist. He is also often represented as standing on top of a demon, to show that he has the power to conquer evil and spiritual ignorance.

All this gets very close to my vision of life and death and the Universe...

As an Indian I have a great feeling to note that you have named your blog page as The dance of Shiva. The picture is apt and the short note is also inspiring.I would like to share more about Nataraja in my blog page titled as ardhra. At present the topics are concerned about human behaviour. Your blog has prompted me to write on the greatness of Lord Shiva.
