In Egypt people do not only get married. Before, they get engaged, through a very lively cerimony. On Friday I attended my first engagement and I really enjoyed it (despite the headhache that I still feel, caused by the incredibly loud volume of Arabic music). First, I went to the hairdresser with the fiancè's aunt, where I met a bunch of women chatting and commenting on how the girl looked like. At a certain point she got quite nervous and started screaming against the make up, but when she saw her boyfriend, who came to pick her up together with both their families, singing and dancing on the street, she immediately started smiling. Then, we all moved to her uncle's home, where I finally met Youssef again (of course, he did not come with me to the haidresser) and we enjoyed seeing people dancing. I love living in this country...but I really need to learn how to dance like an Egyptian!
