I spent 5 days in Sharm El Sheikh for my company's staff annual retreat. There were more than 100 people coming from the 19 countries that our project covers. We got to know each other through games and group activities and new staff like me found their space to integrate. I feel that I have reached what I was aiming at in my carreer: I am not even 30, I worked in different developing countries, I was hired by the UN and now by the World Bank. But the most important thing for me is that I am still working in the field I love: microfinance. Which is more than positive, given my passion for this issue.
At the retreat in Sharm, I also discovered two interesting things:
1. Dr Zahi Hawass built the Piramids
2. Russian girls always seem to feel very hot. They do not wear many clothes on their bodies.
1. Dr
Zahi Hawass entertained us during a cocktail. He is a very busy person, and arriv
ed one hour later than he was supposed to according to the program. But he told us very intersting things indeed. He seems to own the Piramids: people who want to do any kind of research or simply approach them has to have his permission. Everywhere he goes, he discovers something, but he does not like to swim in dirty water to collect finds. He throws kids in the water and through holes in the walls, you never know what you can find there. He also gave immortality to Pharaoh Tutamkhamen by finding his penis and attaching it to his mummy. He also seems to have a special toilet in his office from which he reaches the Pyramids and stores treasures: a Canadian guy visited him with the purpose o taking pictures of the toilet and eventually published them on line.
2. Sharm used to be

a paradise for Italians. There, you can find shops called "Papiri da Ciro lo strafico" and "Erboristeria da Ciccio e Franco". All this, until the Russians showed. Now, Egyptians who used to speak Italian speak Russian, and the neighbours of the
pizzaioli are the owners of the CCCP bar. I saw many Russians while I was in Sharm. The weather was not hot at all but the girls seemed to feel so hot. They could not keep their clothes on, not even the top of their bikinis. Poor girls. Maybe it is because in Russia the temperature is -26 now. Or maybe this attitude is just one of the heritages of the Communist regime?
