The Swiss Club

Yesterday I was in the mood to discover new places in Cairo. Actually I was in the mood to have braekfast outside, in a garden or something like that. I read somewhere that in Imbaba there is a Swiss Club, with a garden where you can sit, relax and eat. Clubs (nadi) are a peculiar thing in Cairo. It's where people gather, relax and chat. Where Italians, at the Italian club, can eat prosciutto and pizza, Greeks can eat feta in their own club and Swiss...can have muesli, spaetzli and cheese. There are some clubs where only inhabitants of Maadi or Zamalek hang usually hang around. That's the case of the Gezira club or the Maadi club.

The Swiss Club is not easy to be found. It took me and Jo more than one hour...if you want to go there, just go to Imbaba, get off at KitKat and ask a police man. He will tell you were to go...the place is so quiet, that when you will reach it you will think it was worth looking for it. You can sit in the garden, have cold lemonade and a good breakfast. Yesterday there were few people around us, and they were quiet too.

I enjoyed staying out, the sun and the food, the flowers and the plants. Few pictures of the place here and there....
